Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to bring a dance partner?
No! If the class or team focuses on partner work, we will have plenty. Many salsa classes and socials encourage partner rotation, so you can dance with different people and improve your skills. If you don’t have a partner, don’t worry—most studios and events welcome solo dancers and help match them with others. Salsa is all about connection, and the dance community is always open to new members!
What if I have no prior experience?
No problem at all! Salsa is for everyone, whether you're a complete beginner or have some dance background. Most classes start with the basics, teaching you step-by-step movements, rhythm, and partner connection at a comfortable pace. Instructors are there to guide you, and the salsa community is always welcoming and supportive. All you need is enthusiasm and a willingness to learn—so come join the fun and start your salsa journey today!
What should I wear to Salsa class?
Comfort is key! Wear clothing that allows you to move freely, such as workout attire, leggings, or a breathable top. For shoes, choose ones with a smooth sole that allow you to pivot easily—dance shoes, ballet flats, or even dress shoes with a low heel work well. Avoid rubber-soled sneakers, as they can grip the floor and make turns difficult. Most importantly, wear something that makes you feel confident and ready to dance!
